Can Melatonin Improve Fertility?

Can Melatonin Improve Fertility?

Words by: Monika Friedman, Monika Friedman Coaching

Could Melatonin be the fertility hormone that under promises but over delivers?

Research has shown the positive impact that Melatonin, commonly known as the 'sleep hormone', can have on female and male fertility.

Melatonin is produced after sunset and helps us get into more restorative sleep, important for cell repair and strengthening the immune system

It lesser known for its superpower as antioxidant for uterus and placenta health, as it has shown to prevent vascular damage, inflammation, and local oxidative stress.

Studies have shown melatonin can help boost cellular repair and improve number and quality of retrieved oocytes and embryos!

Last but not least, too much or too little sleep can decrease sperm quality and quantity.

Here's what you can control:

🛌 Go to bed 1-4hs after sunset
💤 Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep
👓Block artificial blue & green light after sunset (check out BluBlox glasses)
☀️Get lots of sun during the day
🏃‍♀️Cardio in the morning (vs. evening)

🍲Eat largest meal between 9am-2pm

My mantra for all of these changes: PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION!

Pick one thing you can change today, and then continue doing it for 1 full week. See how you feel and then go on to the next step.
